A resource for the andropause
Mandropause is your go-to online resource for straightforward, engaging information about men going through life’s inevitable change: andropause.
Andropause is not a word that's familiar to most men, or something they recognise as the reasons for certain mid-life changes. But we are here to provide the information you need, all explained in plain English, with a healthy bit of banter thrown in to keep things light-hearted and real.
We’ve even put the letter "M" at the start of andropause for the name of our company to ensure it sounds more relevant, less scientific and easy to understand.
From lifestyle changes and emotional well-being to symptom management and treatment options, we cover all aspects of andropause to help you feel informed, supported, and in control.
Welcome to the Mandropause Club, we are on this journey together.

Mandropause is your trusted resource for navigating andropause—the gradual decline in testosterone and other key hormones that many men experience in mid-life (or even earlier).
Testosterone is a man's most important hormone. Think of it as your body's wingman. This superstar hormone is in charge of a lot of what makes us tick, from our muscles and mojo to our mental drive. But here’s the part that sucks as we get older, this trusted sidekick can start to quietly abandon us. This decline is often so gradual that you might not even realise it’s happening until you start feeling off your game and wondering where your sense of humour and energy has gone.
But it’s not just Testosterone....
While testosterone is the main character, it’s not the only hormone in the story. Andropause is actually a complex hormonal shift involving key players (some with hard to pronounce scientific names so please just use the acronyms for ease...) that either help make testosterone or actively work against it:
LH (Luteinizing Hormone) and FSH (Follicle-Stimulating Hormone) - These are the signal hormones released by your brain (scientifically known as the pituitary gland) to tell your testicles to produce testosterone. In older men, these signals often become less effective, meaning your body has to work much harder to maintain adequate testosterone levels.
Estrogen - Believe it or not, although most commonly associated as a women's hormone, men have this hormone too! As men age, especially if body fat increases, more testosterone gets converted into estrogen. High estrogen levels can then signal the brain to stop releasing the hormones that create testosterone, causing a double dip in your Testosterone levels.
Cortisol - Known as the stress hormone. When you are feeling stressed, your body pumps out high levels of cortisol. This hormone directly interferes with your body's ability to produce and use testosterone, often draining your energy and making your symptoms feel worse.
DHEA (Dehydroepiandrosterone) - This hormone is like the starter ingredient your body needs to actually build testosterone. Unfortunately, DHEA levels naturally fall as you get older, which means your body has less to work with to create that vital testosterone in the first place, leading to a lower overall supply of male hormones (scientifically known as androgens)
