About The Mandropause

The idea for Mandropause wasn't created in the normal way most people start a business. In fact, it was a total accident, born from my own unexpected journey. As a part time fitness coach and someone who tries to stay fit, healthy and positive (most of the time!), I was used to managing my energy and mindset. But when I hit 40, things started to randomly change, and I was feeling less like my normal self.

My full-time job, started to became a source of stress. I found myself growing more irritable and easily frustrated, and an increase in "brain fog" made focusing a struggle. Physically, I was noticing changes too, particularly with weight gain around my belly area—something that never happened in my younger years—and my sleep was also becoming erratic. I was experiencing all of this and, honestly, didn't even realise it was a "thing" men went through.

It wasn't until I decided to do some research that the lightbulb moment happened. I was looking for answers, but the more I searched, the more I realised how little information there was for men like me. I had never heard the word andropause before, and it was certainly never mentioned by my mates or male colleagues.

The limited research I could find was very scientific, filled with jargon I struggled to understand and If I can't easily digest information, I switch off—and I knew other guys would too.

I realised I wasn't alone. Research shows that many men, often in their 30s and 40s, start going through this change without even knowing it's a "thing," and these changes can continue for the rest of our lives.

That's why I created Mandropause. I'm not a medical expert; I'm just a guy who started noticing a change in my life. I wanted to take action and figure out how to make this confusing journey easier for me and for every other man who can relate.

As I continue to research Andropause and experience the symptoms first-hand (and find what helps overcome them), I’m dedicated to building a genuine community. We’re here to help other men by offering key facts and knowledge via straight-talking, easy-to-understand information. We also share real support through personal experiences and shared journeys. Crucially, we always include a healthy dose of banter, because that's what us men love and it keeps it light-hearted at times! Ultimately, Mandropause is about cutting through the scientific jargon and giving you the tools to take control of your health, your mindset, and your lifestyle.

What's more, my wife is a personal trainer specialising in menopause and is also navigating her own journey, which has been incredibly valuable to try and understand. It became clear to me that while she flew the flag for women going through menopause, I wanted to do the same for men experiencing andropause.
